Building Creativity for Students

This project included a two-story, 9,000 SF addition to the south-east corner of the existing elementary school. The Lakeville Area Schools was facing an increasing student enrollment over the upcoming years, and to accommodate for this growth, added four classrooms and four breakout spaces.

Due to the geographic location of this school, building code requires all newly constructed school facilities to include an ICC 500 Storm Shelter. This requirement was taken into consideration during the design phase. The lower-level classrooms and breakout spaces function as the Storm Shelter and require strengthened foundation, walls, roof, and openings.
