Creating Fresh Spaces for New Ideas

Artspace Lofts Minot marked a major milestone for the city, becoming the first newly constructed building in downtown Minot in more than 30 years when it was completed in summer 2013. The four-story development provides 34 live-work artist studios along with first-floor retail, creating a vibrant hub for both residents and the community.

The lofts were financed primarily through tax credits, with 94% of funding following Section 42 of the IRS code and Department of Housing and Community Development regulations. Sustainability was also a priority, with the project guided by Green Building Community standards to incorporate durable, environmentally responsible materials.

The first floor is now home to community-focused tenants including the Minot Area Council for the Arts and Children’s Music Academy, further strengthening the building’s role as a cultural anchor in downtown Minot.
