Rebuilding a Central Campus Corridor

This project involved utility upgrades and the full reconstruction of Church Street SE between Washington Avenue SE and Delaware Street SE. The corridor, though only one block long, serves as a critical transportation route for pedestrians and bicycles in the heart of the University of Minnesota campus.

Despite its short length, the project was complex due to limited access, staging constraints, and the need to avoid disruptions. Preconstruction planning ensured 24-hour access to the Mayo Garage, while classes and research continued uninterrupted in neighboring buildings. Loeffler coordinated closely with building occupants to minimize disruption and keep campus activity moving smoothly.
